PSYC 713 - Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues in Psychology This course is for doctoral students in counseling psychology and focuses on developing sensitivity to the ethical aspects of their work as future psychologists. Students deepen their knowledge and understanding of professional ethics and standards of psychological practice, teaching and research. Ethical problems, decision making, principle and virtue ethics in an increasingly diverse and complex environment are considered. Students also consider professional issues such as opening a private practice and benchmark standards for the training of psychologists.
