PSYC 422 - Interviewing and Counseling This is an introductory course to the concepts and skills used in counseling another helping relationships. The course provides an overview of the nature and goals of hoping, the helping process, and describes the helping relationship with a focus on developing basic counseling skills that will allow you to more effectively listen to and communicate with others. Emphasis is placed on developing introductory level competency in use of helping skills through lecture, experiential class activities, writing, and group discussion.
