Educational Leadership, Ph.D.


Program Description


The PhD in Educational Leadership at Springfield College prepares students to become equity-minded leaders and faculty. In this 59-credit program, students are prepared to critically analyze and dismantle inequity within Pre-Kindergarten through Higher Education systems; collaborate with community partners to understand and help solve educational inequity; create new knowledge through rigorous research, and advance practice and teaching from an equity perspective.

Additional Program Standards

1. Students are required to follow the procedures and adhere to the policies of the PhD in Educational Leadership PhD as outlined in the Program Student Handbook

2. The Dissertation Process for the PhD in Educational Leadership is outlined in the Program Student Handbook

3. A maximum of six (6) credits of graduate coursework, not taken for credit within a degree-granting program, may be transferred and applied to the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. Transferred courses must;

            Have a grade of B or better

            Fit within the doctoral program

            Fall within the 7-year time limit of doctoral credit

Transferred credits, with the Program Directors approval, can be used as a substitute to fulfill the following course requirements; Elective (3 credits), RSCH 610 Foundations of Research, and Financial Decision Making.
