HSCI 225 - Biostatistics Biostatistics is a branch of statistics that focuses on the analysis and interpretation of biological data, including data related to health care, clinical research, and public health. This course introduces students to statistical concepts and analysis methods using examples and exercises drawn from health-related data and research. Students learn the fundamental principles of statistical inference, as well as the basic skills to organize, summarize, and analyze data. Topics covered in this course include graphical and numerical descriptions of data, variability, confidence interval estimation, effect size and statistical significance, hypothesis testing, correlation, and linear regression. Credits: 3
