BIOL 482 - Natural Science Capstone

This is a capstone course designed for seniors within the Biology/Chemistry department. Students explore current topics in the natural sciences. The course synthesizes topics and skills relevant to becoming a professional scientist or graduate student. Students reflect on the connection between their major, the Humanics Philosophy, and the Core Curriculum. Topics may include but are not limited to: philosophy of science, application of critical thinking, identification of bias and pseudoscience, science communication, and challenges faced in the professional scientific arena. Students research a topic in science, culminating in a final paper and presentation on the topic.
