HLTH 530 - Women’s Health Issues This course takes a critical, interdisciplinary approach to women’s health, examining issues through social, psychological, economic, environmental, behavioral, feminist and political lenses. The course focuses on how cultural definitions of women’s status affect health and well-being, the measurement and interpretation of women’s health indices, and programs and policies that affect women’s health. This course uses a holistic model that explores the intersections of race, ethnicity, class, ability, culture, and gender and how those intersections influence women’s well-being and health status in the United States.
