ATPY 646 - Art Therapy/Counseling and Substance Use Disorders The purpose of this course is to gain knowledge in the area of Art Therapy/Counseling and Substance Use Disorders. An art therapist utilizes the metaphor to empower clients to view their circumstances from a different perspective. Students will learn how to assess clients utilizing art therapy techniques, and determine an appropriate treatment plan. Students will be able to present a case utilizing art therapy techniques, determine appropriate level of care, identify behaviors and actions associated with substance use diagnoses.
