HUSB 165 - Public Speaking This course provides an opportunity to do an in-depth analysis on specific human services topics. The analysis will include looking at the issues from historical and cultural perspectives. The issues reviewed are developed by the instructor in collaboration with the class. Specifically, this brief, intense course in public speaking is designed for students who are required to speak in front of groups of people, whether it be academic, career, or life interests. The class atmosphere will be one of mutual
encouragement and support towards helping each student reach his or her full potential as apublic speaker. Course work will consist of several public speaking opportunities, guidance on the process of public speaking, detailed discussion of public speaking and communication issues, observation and analysis of professional public speakers, and constructive feedback from the instructor and classmates.
