SMRT 410 - Sports and Recreation Facility Management

The course is designed to introduce students to sports and recreation facilities and their operational procedures. Decision processes pertaining to types of ownership-partnership, corporation, sales proprietorship, entrepreneurships, salaried employment, management process regarding facility design, personnel management, marketing, and feasibility-are discussed. Identification and understanding of business-related aspects with regard to sound, effective operation of a sports and recreation facility are major emphases.
