CISC 205 - Introduction to Embedded Systems for Robotics

This course provides an introduction to embedded systems used in robotics. A robot uses sensors to perceive their environment, actuators to perform actions, and software to accomplish programmed tasks. In this laboratory course students learn the basic skills necessary to develop embedded systems. This course has numerous hands-on projects where students work in teams to create and control a robotic system. Projects include programming microcontrollers, 3D printing, and creating a toy autonomous car that drives itself around campus. This course welcomes students from all backgrounds and encourages creativity in teamwork.
