Exercise Physiology, Ph.D.

Program Description


The Ph.D. program in exercise physiology is designed to prepare students for careers in academia as faculty members. Evidence based learning and practical opportunities are provided in order to train students to be effective teachers in higher education and to conduct publishable research. Students are expected to complete dissertation projects that lead to publishable findings in reputable scientific journals. Students can choose electives that focus on the areas of Sports Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology.

Students seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiology track are recommended to take AEXS 613, AEXS 672, AEXS 695, AEXS 695, AEXS 696, AEXS 697, and PHTH 650.
