The Ph.D. program in exercise physiology is designed to prepare students for careers in academia as faculty members. Evidence based learning and practical opportunities are provided in order to train students to be effective teachers in higher education and to conduct publishable research. Students are expected to complete dissertation projects that lead to publishable findings in reputable scientific journals. Students can choose electives that focus on the areas of Sports Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology.

C. Optional Sports Physiology Track (12 credits)
Students will have at least 10 credits of electives depending upon their interest; The following are a listing of recommended courses for students depending upon their area of focus. These are NOT exhaustive lists. The student will select the course of interest in consultation with their academic advisor.
D. Optional Clinical Exercise Physiology Track (12 credits)
