(15 credits)

The Minor in Theater Arts is a complete program of study and practice that exposes students to the full range of disciplines and crafts that come together in the art of theater. Students develop strong fundamental understanding of communication skills, self-expression, collaborative processes, and the effectiveness of drama in exploring the nature of human experience. The minor can reflect the student’s personal interests in the theater, encouraging active participation, critical thinking, and leadership in production experiences.

Many of the courses required for minors may also fulfill or partially fulfill a General Education category. For more information, see the General Education Requirements section. Some courses required for minors may also satisfy courses required for majors. Students pursuing a minor should notify and consult with the appropriate department chair and complete the appropriate paperwork with the Registrar’s Office so that it can be noted on the transcript.
