HSCI 330 - Community Experience in Gerontology The Community Experience in Gerontology course is a supervised course that provides students with the opportunity to gain direct, hands-on experience in the field of aging. This course is meant to be taken by students who are enrolled in the Springfield College Gerontology Certificate program. The course is designed to place students in a community-based organization in the New England region that supports and provides services to older adults. Further, the course is designed to give students an opportunity to work in the field of aging and to complement the mission of Springfield College by providing meaningful community service to organizations and programs that serve older adults. Students will shadow professionals working in the field of aging and gain real-life and practical experience. An Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Aging course (HSCI 315) must be completed prior to enrolling into this course. Credits: 4-7
