WLPL 225 - Becoming Skilled in Wellness and Physical Literacy through Strength and Conditioning This course is designed to build on students’ exploration in their 100-level Wellness and Physical Literacy course. Students select this course based on their Wellness and Physical Literacy Plan and strive to go in-depth with specific wellness subcategories and one to two movement areas of their choice.
This course is designed to introduce students to various forms of movement and exercise, as well as the areas of wellness. The premise is that if individuals identify ways of moving they enjoy and recognize the connections to living a healthy and well life they will engage in a holistic lifestyle that will positively impact their personal and professional well-being. Areas explored in this course are; Resistance Training, Aerobic Activities, Flexibility/Range of Motion Training, Outdoor Fitness Activities and Alternative Fitness/Resistance Training Activities. Credits: 1
Prerequisites: Completion of a 100-level course that satisfies the Wellness and Physical Literacy domain Registration Restrictions: Restricted to Exercise Science/Applied Exercise Science, B.S. and Exercise Science/Pre-professional Athletic Training, B.S. majors
