WLPL 201 - Outdoor Pursuits: Becoming Skilled in Wellness and Physical Literacy in the Outdoors This course is designed to build on students’ exploration in their 100-level Wellness and Physical Literacy course. Students select this course based on their Physical Literacy and Wellness Plan and strive to go in-depth with specific wellness subcategories and one to two movement areas of their choice.
This specific course is designed to educate the student in group living skills, conservation and environmental concepts, outdoor living skills, and outdoor activities that have a low impact on the environment. Students, as a member of a group, camp, cook meals, care for their assigned campsite, and attend daily activity sessions. Environmental and social wellness and an understanding and appreciation of the Humanics Philosophy are the foci of the course. Credits: 1
