HSCI 420 - Evidence-Based Health Care In recent decades, health care delivery has moved to an evidence-based model, whereby health care providers and policy makers are expected to make clinical decisions that are informed by research. However, despite its widespread acceptance as a mechanism for rational decision making, evidence-based healthcare remains in many ways an ideal rather than a reality. In this course, students critically evaluate health research with the goal of identifying effective treatment and prevention strategies, and learn to recognize and overcome the barriers that health professionals face in effectively incorporating research evidence into their clinical decision making.
