HUSB 260 - Race and Justice This course examines the roles that race, ethnicity, gender and class play in the treatment an individual receives while “participating” in the U.S. society and the criminal justice system. It explores several topic areas including arrest, sentencing, and corrections. In addition, students are introduced to Critical Race Theory (CRT), a theory which challenges the ways in which race and racial power are constructed in U.S. society. Issues including affirmative action, property rights, and the social construction of race are discussed.
