PSYC 682 - Practicum in School Adjustment Counseling This field based course gives students an opportunity to become familiar with and practice the daily responsibilities undertaken by school adjustment counselors. In a supervised environment, students are involved in all facets of school adjustment counseling. They work with students, administrators, teachers, parents, external agencies and other constituencies. They engage in individual and group interventions, counseling and actively work with students supporting social, emotional and academic needs. Students are challenged to apply classroom knowledge to the practice of school counseling. A minimum of 900 clock hours is required for those seeking licensure.
