CJWB 170 - Cyber Crime This course focuses on crimes of the Internet and computer crimes as well as the techniques and resources available to investigate these crimes. Topics include identity theft, cyber terrorism, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, cyber scams, and the threat to organizations through computer hacking. The course examines challenges to cybercrime investigations, including the delicate balance between the application of constitutional amendments to computer investigations and the need to protect citizens from harm, rapidly evolving computer technology, and the limitations to prosecutions of cybercrime. Protection measures, such as securing websites, strong password use, and protection of personal information will be covered. The course explores the new technology available to law enforcement to combat these rapidly evolving crimes.
