CJWB 150 - Homeland Security and Terrorism This course introduces students to the challenges of the post-9/11 world, homeland security and terrorism. The course explores the process and implications of the restructuring and re-missioning of federal agencies, including the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, in response to terrorist threats. The course focuses on domestic policies and programs created to address the perils of domestic and international terrorist acts and will examine the impact of United States policies on the criminal justice system. This broad overview of homeland security and terrorism includes emergency response techniques as they apply to anthropogenic (human made) and natural disasters and identifies the challenges of security with a multicultural, democratic society.
