MMHC 635 - Family Counseling
This course is designed to allow students the opportunity to explore and gain
skill in assessment and intervention practices with families. Utilizing a theoretical
and practical framework, students learn and practice techniques of problem identification
and assessment. The class becomes familiar with some of the major concepts of
various family therapies, and community-based assessments and interventions.
With a focus on families as systems, the students learn to help families deal
with maturational and developmental crises.
