MMHC 627 - Human Growth & Development
This course examines the philosophical models underlying various approaches to
the assessment and treatment of people in such diverse areas as medicine, mental
health, human services, organizational management, and education. Special attention
is given to identifying and evaluating the spiritual/psychological/political/social/economic
consequences of the uses of these models. This course allows for an examination
of one’s own personal/professional philosophies and currently-held theories of
human nature and how people change, grow, and develop. The course also seeks to
present new knowledge and ways of thinking about human nature, human development,
and human assessment.
