SHSY 181 - Working with People with Disabilities

This course is designed for all YMCA staff members and volunteers who work with or want to begin working with people with disabilities. Information will be provided on the use of correct terminology, the effects and implications of the Americans With Disabilities Act and the organization and administration of programs for people with disabilities. It will also cover special safety considerations related to facilities and participants, common disabilities and their implications for YMCA programs and program options for serving people with disabilities.

Prerequisites & Notes
YMCA affiliation.
