EDUC 461 - Students with Moderate Disabilities (PK-8) Practicum and Seminar This culminating experience gives teacher candidates the opportunity to teach students with mild to moderate disabilities at the PreK-8 level. The candidate is under the guidance of a qualified supervising practitioner and program supervisor for 150 to 450 hours (minimum of a total of 300 clock hours required). Each teacher candidate is required to demonstrate selected MA Professional Standards for Teachers (PST) and meet the Candidate assessment of Performance (CAP) readiness thresholds. Students attend a seminar conducted in conjunction with the practicum. Site assignments are made by the Office of Educator Preparation.
Prerequisites & Notes All standards for practicum placement must be met including passing all required MTEL’s.
