EDUC 237*W - Foundations of Multicultural Education
This course introduces students to Multicultural Education theory and practice
with a special emphasis on content integration, cross-cultural competencies, and
the structural (political, economic, social) and psychological dimensions of oppression
and their impact on teaching and learning, critical pedagogy, and the transformation
of curriculum. Students will become familiar with Bilingual and English as Second
Language (ESL) Education and learn strategies to work with linguistically diverse
learners.
Fulfills General Education category for Social Justice.
