HUSB 151 - Mathematical Inquiry

Mathematics is crucial to understanding many modern social issues since these issues are often presented as problems of quantity.  To understand these issues students must be able to wrestle with quantitive language regarding factors such as the scale of need or the scope of available resources.  In this course we will explore the practical
mathematical tools that help us understand social problems and empower us to participate actively in decisions about them.  These tools enable us to make better decisions as citizens, consumers, and human service advocates.
