CRIM 330 - Criminal Law

This course examines the origin and nature of criminal in relation to different substantive categories of crime that are defined by lawmakers.  The substantive  criminal law contains the basic doctrines stipulating the conditions that must be met before a person can be convicted of an offense.  Of primary importance are the various conditions that, if present, may relieve an individual of responsibility for committing a crime.  The penal code of each of the states and the laws of the United States define offenses.
