CRIM 201 - Criminological Theory

This introductory course examines classical and contemporary theoretical approaches aimed at explaining the nature of crime and criminal behaviors.  The problem of crime and related behaviors are addressed at many levels of the criminal justice system, ranging from prevention, awareness efforts, to the rehabilitation of offenders.  Many of the assumptions held by some of these criminologists and theorists have been used to direct the very structure of the criminal justice system and the policies aimed at addressing criminality in the United States.
